Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but...

The SD Reader on the PV500 is a great idea. However, does anyone know if you can get a converter so that I can use my Sony memory sticks in it?

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

i thought sony only did sd cards? what type of memory card do you have? there is a pcmcia slot on the tv but the guy in the shop was a bit fuzzy on wether it could be used to read other memory cards.

I was under the impression that the pv500 had a specific slot for SD cards as well as a PCMCI slot, perhaps one of the lucky owners could clarify.

I currently have sony memory sticks for my camera etc - I why can't all manufacturers pick a format and stick with it :(

yes it has both but no one has yet clarified if the pcmcia slot can be used to hold a converter card for dif flash types eg cf / smartmedia / multiedia / or if it is just for access cards

sony normally use SD which is the same as what is on the pv500

Cheers - has anyone used the SD slot on their PV500? I was just wondering how functional it was. For example can you just diplay pictures or will it play Mpeg files that are stored on the SD Card.

Sony normally uses "SONY", in this case memory sticks and not SD.

The PCMCIA slot is used for a PCMCIA card reader for all other memory cards :D i have used the SD card reader and its very easy to use, you get icons appear so selection of pics is dead easy  you can also watch MPEG4 video. i've tried the SD card recorder, i.e. recorder say freeview onto the card, and its pretty poor, with bad lipsink on super fine res :( i'd only ever use it as a reader IMHO

SD recording is a bit of a gimmick but it's a great gimmick!!
Recordings on the SD card play back superbly on a PDA using Betaplayer, for some reason I couldn't get any audio in Media Player.

Dead easy to use too, had it recording through scart 1, put the TV into standby and it carried on recording.

Can't beat a bit of Family Guy on the go

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but I have another Question:

Does anyone know the sky+ remote code to use the pv500 (and how to programme it).

    Cheers

^^ I'd like to know, too - and does anyone know an app to view the SD card recordings on a Nokia Series 60 phone?

Got it thanks, they do look good on the PDA, probably because they are recorded at 320 x 240.
