The title says it all, I think i've had enough of just waiting around for this set to come in stock with my supplier so i'm considering changing my order. Currently all I have on order is a TH37PV500 with pedestal for £1950. I would never have anything more than my PS2, PC and an XBox360 connected up to it at least until the PS3 comes out (by then if my job is permitting i'll have enough £ for a PHD8) so I would only need composite and possibly DVI. A PWD8 will set me back £1349 from this place so I have a little bit more floating about. If I was to use the component input over VGA and connect to an A/V receiver with a few component inputs then theoretically I could just change between my devices that way. I'd have to pick up a DVI board too to connect my computer up unless I use the component out on my graphics card and put that into the AV receiver too, the one i'm looking at in particular is the Pioneer VSX-1015-K for £360.

Problem is I just spend £50 odd on a component cable from Mark Grant so would like to use that.

This way i'd be getting a 42" display and AV receiver for £1,759 which is almost £200 cheaper! :smashin:

What do you guys think of this? Anything you'd change?

    :lease:

    Jim,
there seem to be alot of other retailers who have the 37" in stock, are you not able to cancel your order and go with someone else. I am waiting for the 42" PV500 with cabinet and have been waiting since late august. I like you are fed up with waiting but have decided that I will wait until the end of the month. Out of interest who is your supplier ?

Having waited since July 18th for a 42" pv500 that eventually arrived last Thursday, I would urge you to give it a little longer. Your decision, but if the pv500 passed your auditions as the set to go for, I would only confirm that it is definitely worth the wait.

I can't see anything else that I want out there which is why I am prepared to wait a bit longer. I know I would regret changing my mind as knowing my luck stock would come in as soon as I changed my order !!

With regard to finance have you tried other providers like cahoot and northern rock, it would mean you can get your plasma quicker as you are not tied to the retailer. It must be frustrating knowing other suppliers have got stock in, .

Yes, not even a drink or two (or three) can solve this. What makes me worry is that some palces are quoting "Early 2006" for the 42" version so if this suffers the same fate I might take advantage of the open window on my 4th floor  :suicide:

I'd need a stand too as that is just the panel, and that guy doesn't do finance from what i can see

I am tempted by this PV500 "E" does anyone know if there are any other differences to the european model asides from the "obvious" lack of freeview.

Mp 3Pimp ? :hiya: thanx for the heads up.

its just the analogue pv500 which looks like a grey import, if anything was wrong with it I doubt panasonic uk would be too helpful.

That is rather strange...the last guy I met who lived in East Grinstead ended up starting up a website with me, he used to live in The Old Convent I think. Small world aint it :)

I keep having to go to the AV shop round the corner by the Shell garage to remind me how much I like the PV500
