Putting my xp back on laptop if i dont like vista

    Hi, i am thinking of purchasing a OEM version of vista . I would format my current hard drive and load vista . What i would like to know is if i dont like or find i am having problems with vista can i re format and put my origanal xp (oem) disc back on . Thanks

    Yes. It should be the same procedure - just using the XP disk instead. Delete the partition, reformat, etc. then install XP. Dont forget to upgrade with all the service packs, etc.

    Thanks , i was just a bit concerned about the mother board , thinking that the oem would be tide to a motherboard .

    What not just make an image of your current XP drive with either Ghost or Acronis. That way if you don't like Vista you can restore the old image?

    That will not only prevent having to re-install XP but will remove the need to re-install your existing applications, and will only take a few minutes instead of hours.
