Purple tint on TV when viewing through Panasonic DMR-EH50

Can someone tell me the cause of this phenomena!!
Just purchased a multiregion Panasonic DMER-EH50 HDD and hooked it up to my Toshiba 32" TV with SKY digital box along side.
Followed all instructions with scart/aerial/sky lead connections.
Powered it all up and everything seemed fine with the exception that, when viewing all channels through the DVD player there was a purple tint.
Thought it may be the TV`s colour settings as just replacing my VCR.
Played around with the colour settings and then it all seemed ok.
Watched a programme earlier today and recorded it to the hard drive just to make sure it was ok, just to prove it was better than the old VCR when wife and kids came home.
Told them all about how good it was, then when I played the recording back the purple haze has come back.
Is this the new set or is it the cheap scart leads, as it worked ok before.
When watching the TV and Sky through TV all is normal.
Please help as it's driving me mad!!!!! :lease: help!!!!!!!!

Try different scarts (always the best place to start) ...borrow if possible before spending to much....very cheap leads can sometimes cause probs although this isnt always the case...ps check that all leads are securely fitted as this to can cause problems with colours
