Recently got a sub (xls 200) and let the 2805 do an auto setup.. but when playing CD's in Direct and Pure Direct, the sub is still active, rather than using just the front speakers.. is there any way to set this so that only the fronts are used in this mode ?

You need to access the individual channel level settings for that mode and lower the SW channel down to -12db then OFF. :) By memory you need to access the Surround Parameters and do it from there.

What you need to do is go to direct mode then press surround paramter and keep pressing you should get an option marked SW <ON> use this to turn it off. Then when you enter pure direct the sub will be off.

If you want true CD playback connect the CD player to the CD L&R inputs, select CD on the 2805, select Analog for the CD input- this will put all signals to only the front L&R speakers and ignore SW. I have my 2910 connected via L&R (CD), 5.1 (DVD, DVD-A, SACD) and Digital (CD, DVD) - have tried all combinations for the CD and IMHO the L&R sounds the best.

Thanks guys...Will play with the settings, as I have the CD player (standalone Marantz)connected by CD L&R inputs already.. so the feed is only analogue..
