pta300 & Digital Cinema Reality

    i have just uprgraded from a pta100 to the ptae300 amd i am very happy with the upgrade, this pj is said to have a Digital Cinema Reality circuit, anyone know what this is & what it does,

    Is the picture slightly softer with this pj in comparison to the 100?

    And was it a worthy upgrade?

    nope i find the picture to be a big step up, the picture looks so clear & crisp, and i cant notice the pixel grid at all even standing very close to the screen imho its well worth the upgrade.

    there are tons of settings to adjust to get the picture the way a like it, the contrast is so much better than the 100 and dark movies look so much better.

    I can hardly wait on my 500 arriving although to be fair i hardly ever seen any screen door on my 100.

    the smooth screen technology is amazing and it makes a big difference to the picture

    It's a marketing man's name for 3:2 pull-down detection, it's a good thing if you are just using a regular non-progressive DVD player.

    thanks i am using a toshiba 510 which is progressive on ntsc but not on pal, so it will come in usefull when viewing pal discs

    Actually it won't, generally 3:2 pull-down is only used on R1/NTSC DVDs.

    Oh well :)
