Nice one Dave, just wondered if the price of lamps had declined much. Its amazing that the price of the PJ can fall by upto 50% and the lamps never seem to change. Its a lot like the printer/cartridge argument I suppose.:eek:

The problem with lamp prices is that the gas's used in the lamps costs more to manufacture than previously. High Pressure Discharge lamps like VIP, Metal Hallide and UHP as seen in most modern projectors cost a fortune to produce. I believe another problem is that the manufacturers keep the prices high in order to influence people to buy a new projector instead of replace the lamp (usually after a few years use).
