PSU Question

I'm building a new computer for myself on a mid-range budget. I have/will be purchasing the following:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
ASRock 939SLI32-eSATA2 SOCKET 939 Motherboard
2GB DDR-400 RAM
200GB HDD
ASUSTEK nVidia 7600GT
Samsung DVD-R/RW+R/RW-RAM Drive

My question is; will the 350w PSU that comes with the case be sufficient or would you recommend something more powerful?

Thanks.

upgrade it. You may find it is okay to boot, but the gfx card and the cpu going full belt may tax that too much.
I am not sure about the connectors for gfx, but if it requires the new pci power connectors, it is doubtful that the cheap type supplies in a case will have them.
I recommend bying a new psu with pci power connectors rated to 450+ ( 500 - 600 if you plan on SLI )
Many now have plug in connectors for each power rail so you only use the cables u need and don't have others clogging up the case.

is it s decent make PSU?
wattage alone is nothing, just look at the PSU's that are in shuttles. i see no reason that if its a decent brand it wont run that rig tbh

350W should be ok - but if you are going to upgrade take the opportunity to get a silent PSU - some of the cheap high watt ones are real howlers.

That is not much above the one hes already getting if Mark is shelling out for a new PSU he may as well get something that that is going to work on his next upgrade. I had something like a 400-450 unit and it would not support my 1900XT card.

If you're on a tight budget you could always see if the PSU that comes with the case worked OK first. And then maybe have an eye on upgrading some months down the line. Some of the new PSU only use QUOTE EG Many now have plug in connectors for each power rail so you only use the cables u need and don't have others clogging up the case. the one I have the cables are round so allowing increased air flow round the case. It also has a thermostat that even when you switch the computer of will still run the fans till things have cooled down.

I've decided to get the Sansun Arctic 500w Modular PSU from eBuyer. It's about £35 and has had good reviews so presumably I should be ok.
