Been converting DVDs to PSP MPG4 files since January, very easy to do and with PSP Video 9 it is mad even easier as it will create all the directories you need on the memory stick and it has good options.

Can I ask why are you using DVDShrink? as it really is just for converting DVD9s so they are small enough to fit onto a DVD5.
If you want to extract a film from a DVD then I recommend using DVD Decrypter. It is simple to use and you can set it so it outputs the film as a single .vob file which you can then just load straight into PSP Video 9.

I use dvd decypter, but did not realise you can output a single vob :) i use dvdshrink as its easy to strip out the menus and just backup the main movie file. I guess i could use decrypter on the dvdshrink files to get a single vob maybe.

You can use DVD Shrink in re-author mode to remove the menus but why not just use DVD Decrypter in IFO mode to select just the film and extract it that way, seems alot easier to me.
Also, to make it output a single .vob file go into Tools/Settings and under IFO mode select None in the drop down box next to File Splitting, this will result in a single .vob file which you can just load into 3GP or PSP Video 9.

Indiana, just use to using dvd shrink i guess, i will have a play again with decrypter, but i am looking for a easy solution so new users on a psp can put dvd's easily onto them.

Dr_loss had a look but could not find what i was looking for, btw can you add my site to your links page ?

If i do find a simple program to combine vob files i will post here.

ok, found a easy tool for joining vob files here. Simply join the vob files, then run psp video 9 to convert the single vob to mpg4 for the psp.

I posted how to extract to a single .vob file above but here it is again...

To make it output a single .vob file go into Tools/Settings and under IFO mode select None in the drop down box next to File Splitting, this will result in a single .vob file be created.

It has something to do with DVD players not being able to read files bigger than 1Gb in size, trust me if you burn a 4Gb .vob file to a dvdr and try to play it back it will get to about 20mins into the file then it will just stop, sure someone else will be able to give more detailed info.
