I have just ran the network update option on my PSP and its told me that an update is available.

I downloaded it and it then ask me if I want to install firmware update 2.1

Has anyone done this yet, what does it update over version 2.0 ???

Security - you wont be able to downgrade it to be able to take advantage of "homebrew" if you apply this update.

I'm surprised that Sony have been able to react so quickly. Oh well, just avoid installing anything until you are 100% sure...

Any one cracked 2.0 yet? I know you can down grade, but I like the web functionality of 2.0

I think Sony have boxed clever with these updates, forcing people to make the choice in order to get more features - but its damn annoying!!! Are Sony going to drip feed us updates for the rest of the PSPs life span?

it's cracked for pong and other stuff, but not the proper homebrew.

You can flit between 1.50 and 2.0 all you want - it's not a once only process.

there are dev teams with a combo firmware of 1.50 and 2.00 (incorporating the best of both), but it's not shared yet

The web browser is nothing special (plus there's a homebrew version or you can use the Wipeout hack). I found it a bit slow.

The new firmware is actually 2.01
