Here we go again. I am looking for a nice 50" Plasma to adorn my crappy lounge and having been out of the game for so long I am still coming to terms with the ever so confusing range of whats on offer. Wingwams, Scruttling Pins and go faster buttons are starting to do my head in and I'm getting confused.

    So.

I have narrowed it down to two.

    Samsung PS50B530 (£500)

    and LG 50PK350 (£480)

Could I ask some kind soul who knows what they are looking at to tell me what would be the better bet.

Its for Blu Ray and Sky HD, getting a bit to long in the tooth for PS3's now (but will probably end up with one anyway)

    Thanks

    Brian :D

The PK350 recently got a best buy in the AVForums hardware review.

Cheers Martin. The only downside to Best Buy (and no disrespect to the people reviewing) is that the likes of the PS50B530 hasn't had a review at all, so kinda confuses.

Ah, maybe you're right. A proper warranty/guarentee on these things is worth its weight in gold. Shillbay is strewn with tv war veterans :D

    £537 from Pixmania.

Whooooo Neddy  Just realised the question hasn't actually been answered as yet of which of the 2 is the better ?

On the Pixmania front, I will actually be driving past one of their depots on Tuesday, I'll pop in and have a nosey. Thats if they still have their shop outlets ?

The only person that can tell you that would be someone who has owned both sets and then they could be wrong.
Best thing to do would be to research both tvs try and demo them and make your own mind up.
I have the PK590 and think it is a great tv for the money good with both HD and SD has the same panel as the 350.Cant comment on the Samsung because I have never seen one.

    Regards Martin

Cheers guys on this, I think I will have to go sit in front of them both to make my mind up.

When I said I was driving past one of their depots I meant in Rennes France which I do believe they still have a depot. If not I'll hit the UK high street when back.

You never know, in the interim period there may be a pre xmas price war
