PS5 HDMI connected to Sony 85” 800H

OPTICAL out from tv ran to AV room. Connected to Yamaha RXV3800.
The receiver registers 5.1 from optical output from tv.

What should I select for Audio Format PS5 settings

3 options
Linear PCM
Bitstream (Dolby)
Bitstream (DTS)

If you’re using optical, then you should choose the Bitstream options. PCM is the better format with regards to sound quality, but if you are using optical this will only give you 2.1 sound, due to PCM being uncompressed/lossless and optical not having the bandwidth to cope with it. As to which Bitstream to choose (Dolby or DTS), try both and see which sounds better, but you probably won’t notice any difference. I also use optical due to my old Onkyo receiver (I’ll upgrade one of these days :)), and have my PS5 set to Bitstream Dolby.
