      I've just picked up a Pro with 2 controllers for £200, and my old PS4 is going into my son's room to replace his flaky Xbox 360.

      What advantages does the Pro have over the standard PS4 on a 51" 1080P plasma TV? Not too bothered really if there aren't any, just curious, lol! ;)

      No advantage on a FHD TV as the normal one can do HDR as well.
      That said it can boost frame rates on some games if that is important.
      You should let the boy play with the Pro ;)

      Lots of improvements on a Pro with 1080p. In fact, in many situations, I'd be tempted to say the improvements on 1080p outweigh the resolution increase to 4k.

      Found a great list (although the thread is in turmoil so may move elsewhere) of Pro benefits per game here;

      All PS4 Pro enhanced games (native support and boosted)

      There are a lot of advantages with the Pro. One game that I've played a lot of this year, half on Standard and half on Pro is Nioh.

      On the standard, the 60 fps option maxed out at 720P, but on the pro 60 fps was at full 1080P.

      That's what I meant by FPS improvements.

      It's resolution though, not just fps. :)

      The Pro can do super-sampling and Down Sampling the Witcher 3 does this basically better anti-alising and taking a 4k image and running it on a 1080p TV so you get more detail , also games like "rise of the tomb raider" have better lighting, textures and FX should you pick that over framerate, to say there is no advantage other than FPS is just wrong.

      Yeeah but is it really much noticeable? I've had both side by side and the difference wasn't anything to write home about to me eyes now I only have the Pro but yes there is that too.

      It depends on the game and what devs chose to do for it but in the cases it's done well it's noticeable such in the case of the two games I mentioned and yes i have played both of those on Standard and Pro, granted it's not mind blowing huge of a difference over the Base PS4 but enough that I was able to see.

      I just got a pro and am running it on my 65-inch Panasonic plasma.

      I was playing Witcher 3 on my standard PS4 yesterday and got no updates but when I put it in the Pro I got the 1.50 update that gives 4k.

      Is there a setting or anything in the game itself I should be activating to get it to supersample or does the patch just do it automatically? I can't see any settings in Witcher 3, 1.50 to set to 1080p or 4k?

      I'm assuming it sets everything automatically dependent on which video setting you select in the actual ps4 pro menu? So select 4k output in pro menu (obviously not available for me) and game runs at 4k, or choose 1080p video output in pro menu and game will supersample... right?

      there is no setting it automatically adds Supersampling via the 1.50 patch if running in 1080p, 4k is a higher resolution so it's not needed
