My friend has an original PS4, connected to a newly purchased Onkyo TX-NR696. The PS4 is connected to the Game input.
When powering on the PS4, audio plays out through the Onkyo and speakers just fine, but there is no video. Things tried, to date;
On the PS4
- Set PS4 to 480p Resolution
- Turned HDR off on the PS4
- Turned Deep Colours off on the PS4
- Turned HDCP off
On the Onkyo
- 1.1 Set 1080p > 4K Upscaling OFF (from Auto)
- 5.1 Tried CEC ON/OFF
- ARC is OFF
- Tried with "Standby Through" as GAME (no difference)
When running the PS4 in Safe Mode, this is displayed via the Onkyo, on the TV.
The Firmware on the PS4, TV and Onkyo are all up to date.
A Sky Q box is also connected, and the cable from the Sky Q box has been tested.
Equally, plugging the PS4 into the "CBL/SAT" input normally used by Sky Q, results in the same issue.
