PS3's Blu-ray Player capabilities...

Hi People

Does anyone now if the PS3's Blu-Ray player will upscale standard def DVD's to 1080p??

That is if the PS3 even plays SD DVD's at all

Hi, no, it does not upconvert to 1080i, hence why I decided to get a $50 upconverter. It does do them in 480p though, which is at least better than standard

not sure that this wont be fixed in a future firmware update though
