PS3 wont connect to LG Flatron E2240

Hi i am new to the forum, and basically i have been trying to connect my ps3 to my lg flatron e2240 monitor, the monitor consists of 1 dvi port, so i bought a dvi to hdmi for the ps3 to work. the monitor is full hd but when i connect the playstation it just appaers as no signal to the monitor. i have googled the problem but have not found much. any one else had any similar problems thanks

The sony supports HDCP copy protection, since you're connecting via the DVI port I'll assume that the DVI hasnt got HDCP. Does the screen have any other connection options?

No it hasn't just dvi. I I have got a dvi to hdmi cable but still not luck with it

Is your lead like the one in that link?

The monitors input is DVI-D, and is HDCP compliant, from reading the specs.

Tried the reset display option, holding down the power button on the PS3 till it bleeps a few times.
