I couldn't notice the difference. No doubt that Sonic on the PS3 will just be a port of the 360 version anyway, as the 360 is here and now. But yeh, I expect all multiformat titles to be similar - over time though I do expect PS3 to be able to pull off better visuals and maybe even steady framerates. Both are similar, but it comes down to the games.

The one selling point for a PS3 for me was WWE SvR, MGS4 and GTA4. For those 3 titles I would have purchased one, when all 3 titles were to be released anyway. No longer do Sony have that same offering, SvR 07 is nextgen exclusive to 360 and GTA4 is now appearing on 360 as well plus we have the bonus of other great exclusives like Halo 3, Gears of War, SC Double Agent(nextgen 360 exclusive) - mix with that mutiformat hits like Call of Duty 3 and ....... can't think of any more lol. I think its safe to say for the moment the Xbox 360 clearly offers gamers the best experience.

well since the PS3 isn't out yet, I think thats obvious :rotfl:.

But yea, in multi platform games I don't think theres gonna be the difference we saw with the Xbox vs PS2.

As regards to exclusives, personally, I'm not really a fan of the Halo series. Played it once, and never really liked it.
On game that does look intersting though is resitance fall of man on the PS3. I havn't got enough money to pick a PS3 on launch, I'll end up buing R:FOM when it comes out in the platinum series in 2007 (which no doubt it will).

What I'm probably gonna do is pick up a 360 later this year (I badly need a console to play on, as my PS2 is nearly dead, and my PC is in dire need of an upgrade), and then hopefully pick up a PS3 sometime in 2007.

Over time I expect the 360 to pull that off too.

On the subject of the 2 consoles, does anyone follow the ps3forums.com board?
There was an "insider" post on there who supposedly had seen loads of ps3 games and blu-ray films (dual layer of course ;) ) and he basically said end of the line for the 360 and HD-DVD, now call me pessimistic but if the machine is that awesome then I think they better start using the ps3 for making the next Pixar films :rotfl:
Link is below to this "insider" knowledge ;)

it looks like the guy already part true.
He says resistance fall of man is around 20GB atm, and accoring to this interview, he is correct.

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1539078/20060821/index.jhtml?headlines=true

So although the post may be covered with fanboyism, after seeing that interview, although I don't beleive everything he said, I'm not ignoring it either.

Which just means the disc will be filled with FMV poorly encoded in MPEG2. If they had used VC1 or AVP codecs then they could still fit it on a DVD. Data itself doesn't use up much space: take Oblivion for example - how much space do you think that takes up? The PC version - which is better than the 360 version when you turn all the settings up - uses 4.2GB. Sort of puts things in perspective doesn't it?

I've said this before, no (at least i have never seen a quote of them saying it).
What I have seen though, is MS claiming the orignal Xbox could aheive the level of detail found in toy story.

    Nah, it was Microsoft....

    http://news.com.com/2100-1040-250632.html

""One of the basic premises of the Xbox is to put the power in the hands of the artist," Blackley said, which is why Xbox developers "are achieving a level of visual detail you really get in 'Toy Story.'"

ON the section with 2 screens together the 360 looks less colourful and dull... heh, maybe just cable or settings or something.

When are people finaly going to accept that you can't compare two products fairly until they are both out , not just one of them. When they are you can make your own mind up and make your own decision based on fact rather than hype , corporate rants , fanboyism and other assorted biased opinions.
