Does anyone know when the psp is going to be shown in public? I heard it's the same day as xbox 360, is it true?

Probably at E3 - which is in LA, and runs May 17-20. MS have tried to jump the gun with their 360 by doing the MTV thing on May 12 (in US, 13th here), but I wouldn't be surprised if we heard a 'mysterious' leak of PS3 information about then too...

I think Aunty Mable meant PS3. Should be at E3 anyway.

16th of May. The XBOX also gets unveiled to the press the same day. More in depth than the MTV even on the 13th.

I hope they've sorted the pads for PS3. The controllers themselves are uncomfortable to use and give me hand cramps. Plus the analogue sticks are spongy, have dead spots and are basically crap. Also it would be nice to have some decent analogue shoulder triggers like the XBOX.

I wonder if they have worked out how to make a console properly yet so they last more that 12 months  They have yet to build a machine with a durable laser assembly.

Well lets just say you were extremely lucky. Considering the early PS1 actually had plastic mechanisms in the laser assembly. Many many units failed within 12 months.

I dont need to document the problems with the PS2 either. Even in the final "Small" incarnation retailers were complaining of high return rates due to failure in the laser assembly a problem which dogged the entire PS2 production run from start to finish

What actually got me on this was the picture above seems to show the unit dosnt have a DVD tray. Another way of cutting costs no doubt, I am sure they will get it right this time
