Bit of an off the wall question here but does anyone know the best way to go about reselling PS3 consoles and accessories? I have been looking to buy a large quantity of them in bulk and was wondering if an approach to Sony directly would be best or whether I would need to go via a wholesaler.

Does anyone have any experience of this type of thing and do you know what the likely margins are and what criteria would have to be met?

    Cheers...

the direct wholesaler for sony ps3 is centresoft

    http://www.centresoft.co.uk/

they should let you buy bulk but they may have minimum criteria's to meet

not much margin to be made on hardware! Possibly more with accessories and software.

To be honest, with large retailers having to drop the PS3 price closer and closer to trade price hence not making much I think you would be peeing in the wind trying to buy and sell PS3's for a profit. Really not worth the trouble for £10-£20 per machine, and you will probably find that most people are wary of spending this amount of cash with a small indipendant seller for maybe a ten pound saving.

There is a lot more margin in games and especially accessories than consoles (as mentioned above) if you fancy giving this a try as a sideline then you will probable make as much on a couple of cables/joypads as you would on a PS3 console.

What surprised me is that some people are selling regularly on places like eBay for £330 ish. With the eBay and PayPal fees, surely they must be buying them in for somewhere in the two hundreds to make any profit?

I'd understand if they were selling bundles and making the money on the games and accessories but they seem to be just bulk shifting consoles.

or maybe its excess stock that some had ordered in anticipation of making a mint.
