    Hi

I have a Mits HC6000 1080p PJ and love watching my HD DVD collection on my 80" width screen.

Now the BD market has come down to a reasonable price I am on the look out for a new BD player. My problem is the fact that I also love gaming but have been underwhelmed with my 360 performance via componenet on the PJ and wondered if I should double dip with the BD player and the games machine combined.

The thing is I am not sure if there will be a noticeable diff in quality on a larger screen for BD and games playback in consideration of the HDMI connection rather than component.

My most important requirement though is BD so would be interested on hearing thoughts from those who watch both/either through a PJ.

I know there are alot of threads regarding PS3 comparisons but I feel this is a bit more specific.

    Dave

My PS3 is connected to my PJ throwing a 92" image and the PQ is superb even on an old 720P machine.

Nearly as good as the picture from my trusty XE1 but with the added benefit of a games machine built in. With the demise of HD-DVD it's a no brainer to double dip IMHO

To be totally honest i only really use the PJ for the films so can't comment.

The kids play the games on the Plasma 95% of the time and the picture is amazing.

The gaming is quite an important aspect in my decision making, if its still not quite meeting expecttations then I could get the Panny for £180 rather than the PS3 @ £100 more and stick with a dedicated player.

I use a PS3 on a 1080p projector with a screen size of roughly 105" (measured horizontal, not diagonal). BD, DVDs and Fallout3 all look ace on it.
