Ps3 Internet Help

I have 4mb virgin broadband service connected to my pc upstairs and want to connect my new PS3 which is downstairs. I dont mine running a cable between the two but is it as simple as that. do i need a splitter from my modem and will i be able too have them both connected at once and will my PS3 just be plug and play ?

my broadband modem has a usb connection which i can use to connect my pc,will this leave the ethernet socket free to use as a feed to my PS3

Do you have a wireless router?

if so, just change the PS3 netowrk option to Wireless.

If not, you need a router for the simplest and easiest method of connection to the internet. If you dont want to buy a router then you need to setup ICS internet connection sharing on the PC.
