i have my ps3 hooked up to my sony w series via hdmi and the picture is stunning at 1080p. i also have a hs60 projector that is hooked up to my amps monitor out with hdmi and component cables.

the ps3 is also connected to my projector via component and an optical cable for sound. however due to this connection with my projector (more so the optical connection) i cannot benefit from uncompressed 5.1 from blu ray discs.

does anyone have any suggestions other than me swapping connections on the tv and projector, ie hdmi to projector and amp and component to tv, the benefit in this is that i will benefit from the uncompressed audio but wont get a 1080p pic on the bravia as it only accepts 1080p via hdmi and component. thanks in advance

Hi, Dont have a ps3 yet so not sure if any of this will work, but i have my xbox360 hooked up via vga at 1080p on my sony 40" w bravia. But i think it only works due to some sync on green bug thing that the abox360 uses for vga. Another option would be getting an hdmi splitter box which there are quite a few to choose from now.

I thought that you could not get 1080p over component cables due to not being able to transmit the HDCP singal over them and whatnot, correct me if I'm wrong please?
