PS3 Component or HDMI

Hi I hope someone can help me.

I am considering getting a PS3 next month and, as i understand no HDMI cable is included, i am unsure if i will need one.

I have a Yamaha Home Cinema (AV61) which has component connections in/out. These are apparently HD ready connections.

Does this mean that i can pass the picture through the AMP and still get as good a picture as sending it directly to the TV via HDMI or will it be worth buying a HDMI cable?

Many thanks for any help you guys can give me

:)

Thanks, will it give a much better picture then?

Generally a digital picture gives a better picture than an analogue source but it all depends on the tv you are using, some handle different connections better.

The ps3 outputs a better picture via hdmi than it does on component, but then again it is all dependant on the tv.

If you are using a tv that handles component better than hdmi you wouldn't notice but on a tv that handles both inputs the same (or handles hdmi better)you would see a noticeably better image.

Thanks guys,
i have a Samsung Le40R72 which only goes up to 720. i guess the best thing is to buy an HDMI and see which gives the best picture for then.
