So my PS3 fat 40Gb's HDMI port is goosed.

Will connecting to the HD TV via component rather than composite give a better resolution?

Also, which PS3 port does the component connector go in to? I'm assuming it's the same as the AV composite?

    Update:

Well, the component cable came today, as did the new PS3 slim...

MAJOR improvement over the AV composite, so looks like i'll be keeping the old fatboy for a while longer.

New PS3 packed up and ready for return to sender!

Are you allowed to send back your news PS3 then? Been less than 7 days?
