Amazon now have the PS3 at £399.99!!
same at play.com witn free hdmi lead and click blue ray movie.
Swines! They waited a month so that people couldn't get £25 back if they got a release day one.
thats annoying... may have to email them and complain... or even just try my luck and see what happens
Got mine from Amazon with a free ( and pretty good quality) HDMI lead and Resistance for £430. Delivered next day with no problems , and works like a dream
Hhhmmm. 50,000 units say at £25?
1 and a quarter mil is it not?
probably less than 1% know you can reclaim though
Spread the word Philly Boy ....spread the word!
mines from amazon how can you reclaim?
just got email confirming my refund of £25.
go to refunds/returns section within your account and email customer service with details and order number of PS3
when did you get your PS3 delivered?
I got my PS3 on launch day, I saw the reduction this morning (I have been waiting for this to happen) and thought bugger it's over 30 days but worth a go. I did the refund thing and got the email with the £25 refund then later today got another email confirming processing of refund.
Having said all this I do know people who got a launch day one and did the refund thing later in the day to be told no.
Well I've tried... I await my email back from them saying no lol
I got mine on launch day too and was accepted for the refund.
I got mine on launch day too. Just fired off an email to Amazon. Also mentioned that they now offer the PS3 with a free HDMI cable so I'm gonna see what they say.
I did say I wanted to purchase some more stuff from Amazon so they might just offer me a discount on my next purchase (can put that towards a new game) and send a free HDMI cable.
Thanks chaps...just tried my luck as well. Another launch day delivery.
I tried my luck, they said no mine was a launch day console too.
Did they give a reason why?
Very clever by amazon. Surely this points to the fact that retailers are just not happy with the £425 price point.
Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.
The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to
time. I've checked your order # and found that we
now offer a greater discount on "Sony PlayStation 3 Console (60GB
Premium Version)" than at the time you placed your order.
Please accept our apologies, but we are not able to adjust the price
of an order in instances where more than thirty days have passed
between the date on which an order was dispatched and the time that
an item is reduced in price on our site.
Again, I am sorry for any disappointment that this may cause. Thank
you for shopping at Amazon.co.uk.
How rude. I thought they reduced the price of the PS3 just under the thirty days.
Unfortunately not Funky, they adjusted the price 31 days after the launch. I was checking this on a semi regular basis as I was hoping they'd slip up and change it too early.
On the plus side I did manage to get £10 back on each game I got with my PS3, even though they allowed £5 off each game if you bought the console, so in theory my games cost me £24.99 each, or my console cost £394.99. One of the two anyhow
I didn't get it either.
What should I put in the e-mail to them? I want to try my luck.
This is what I wrote. Though it didn't work.
Guys, do you want to know how much my Toshiba LCD TV has reduced in price since I bought it in November????? Over £100. And I got it for probably £400 cheaper than the guy who bought it 6 months earlier.
That's life folks! The PS3 will probably be £350 by Christmas. You pays your earlier adopter dollars, you pays the price!
Yes, but we are talking about a price drop literally 30 days after purchase. Play.com are offering £25 refunds so why not Amazon.
Play.com are very very generous. Retailers can reduce a price at any time; it's their discretion and your tough luck!
It would be a different story if you were talking about a John Lewis price match.
I'll let you know if I get a reply, then maybe some of you can ask them why some people have recieved refunds and others haven't.
