Question about HDMI and audio. I use a PS3 as a Blu-ray player connected HDMI to an X3000. My audio is connected optical bitstream to my amp. PS3 is set to output HDMI video, optical bitstream audio in the respective settings menus.

All is fine normally, but sometimes when playing standard def extras on the discs (such as Ridley Scott's intro to the new cut of 'Blade Runner') the X3000 pops up a warning message "Unsupported audio signal. Check your device output."

As it's not supposed to be taking any audio on the HDMI input, this is a tad annoying. Is there a way of stopping this happening?

I get the same message when starting up my Philips dv5980. My D3000 pops up the little message but after half a second it disappears and everything seems to work fine. I'd previously just put it down to one of life's little oddities. ;)
