Hello and thank you and i really need your help.
I'm using a Samsung le32a457c1d and a PS3 (Fat) 80GB
The Problem is that the HDMI connection does not work. for example if i connect with the composite and then try to connect to the HDMI it will go to a blank screen. Not a screen that says no signal like it would if there was nothing connected. Just blank. Sometimes it will give me a green or white flash but then nothing after. That is the ridiculously annoying thing about it, the tv recognizes the HDMI is connected. I know this because i have went into the source list in the menu and the HDMI i have connect the PS3 through (one of any 3) is highlighted and not grey like it would be if there was nothing connected. I have listed all that i have tried below, i'm not going to claim that i have tried everything because i haven't. For instance i have not tried farting into the PS3 fan system and if that is your suggest, i don't need your help. I have tried everything that i have come across in the many pages i have looked at though. This problem has been going on for about a year after i brought everything home from uni. And i would be so so grateful if you could try and help me out.
OK
so ive been using the component cable for the last year and it works fine.
the ps3 works perfectly connected by HDMI on 2 other tvs
The Hdmi cable works as i have tried it on another tv with the same PS3
I connected my friends Xbox 360 to the tv in question and it works perfectly
i have reset the display output by waiting for the beep
i have restore the file system and rebuilt the database on the PS3
i have restored the tv to factory settings
i have went into the service menu of the tv and checked the 3 HDMI port and all 3 said success. at least that's what i think i was doing
i have also tried to do thing like hold the power button down on the tv while it is unplugged to reset the ports and tried turning the tv on while the PS3 was off and then turning the PS3 and Vise-Versa. i not sure if things like that actually make a difference but they were suggested so...
other weird things i've noticed while using the composite cable is that if i go into the displaying setting of the PS3 and try to change the quality i'm getting through the composite cable from the Standard (PAL) setting up to a higher setting it does not work either. it just going to the av page and says no signal.
