Ok TV arrived today Hitachi LD7200 everything is up and running now just trying to test everything out in detail.

The problem i have is as follows, my PAL PS2 with a DMS4 is connected via component to AV 4 i am running an NTSC copy of GT 4 and want to enable the 480p and 1080i modes but when i enable them through the games menu i get a corrupted screen and it shifts to a small box in the bottom left corner, i tried both settings.

I just can't figure it out, my PS2 is set to component not RGB all cables are correct and connected. Any suggestions please?

Tried the Gamecube in 480p using component cables and AV 4 and all seemed fine.

Please help me if you can.

No i have not noticed any blurring on playback whatsoever in fact i was pleasantly suprised with the quality of image without Progressive scan enabled.

I used to have a 30" Phillips LCD that looked awful when connected to my PS2. But with this new Hitachi i am pleased with the image from all 3 consoles.

You could try this lead. Couldn't find a stand alone lead but will do the job.

The solution was the age of the console not all PS2s support progressive scan only the later models and the smaller new models do.

And that my friend is a fact, so if anyone else tells you otherwise they are wrong. I have 3 old style PS2s, don't ask why? and both of the early models would not work however, the newer one was fine.

Sorry i haven't got a clue how to capture or post images, however there is a noticeable difference in 480p and 1080i but not as much as i was expecting. But then i'm a fussy bugger.

How do enable the 480p/1080i modes? I have a PS2 v9 with the Matrix Infinity modchip.
