Hi Iv'e just bought a PS2 and I want to connect it to my AV amp, I have a SVHS lead with two phonos but I want to connect a optical lead as well.
Do I have to use both connections or can I use the optical for all the sound?

    cheers Dave.

PS can I use any optical lead or does it have to be for a PS2 only.

Use the optical lead from your ps2 to your amp for all sound. But I'd suggest plugging in the S-Video audio cables into another input on your amp (or maybe your TV) because some PS2 games don't output through the optical out (and there are a few that do this)

Any optical lead will do btw. I use a £10 cheapie from Argos. It certainly works well enough so I can't complain about it
