PS2 Online via wireless Laptop

I already have a wireless setup, with a Laptop connected via a PCMCIA wifi card.

How easy is it to connect my PS2 via ethernet to Laptop (using XP) to utilise wireless ? I really don't want to have to buy a seperate WAP for the PS2.

All hints/tips appreciated.

Cheers Dave

Well to connect it is pretty easy,

making it work, well that's the fun part!

Seriously though, many people use a cross over cable and connect their PS2 to a PC with an existing connection. This works great for some and others tear their hair out in large clumps!

The root cause of this (no pun intended) is ICS, Internet Connection Sharing which is the component of Windows that must be installed/configured to share your connection with the PS2.

Personally, I have mine connected to my router with a cable, but even if I didn't, I'd use a wireless adaptor (pick one up for about £30) that would let me play without having to fire up any other hardware.

Cheers.....I'll give it a go

BTW....where can you get the adapter for £30 please ?

Good luck!

For more information on the cheap wireless adaptor, see this thread .

As the final post says, setup your WEP keys in Hex and you'll be fine. I got one for my brother in law and checked it out first. It worked like a charm with my PS2.

Drop me a PM if you want a copy of the latest firmware (still have the zipfile on my desktop).
