PS2 not working

    Its not spinning the disk when I close it(slimline), It all powers on but will not load a game due to it not spining, any help, thanks.:smashin:

    I'm sorry to hear that. I've never heard of anyone else having this problem before. If it's under a year old, it's should be under warrenty with Sony, so contact them. If it's older, try giving someone like PS2Laser a call www.ps2laser.co.uk - 01823 333555 who'll probably know what the problem is (probably the drive motor ~£15). Good luck.

    I've never taken a slimline PS2 apart but if the disc drive is as cheap and nasty as some people have claimed it could be something as simple as the drive belt (essentially a rubber band) breaking or having slipped off one of the drive spindles.

    It shouldn't cost that much to have repaired and it might be a relatively simple DIY job. But if it's under warranty or you don't want the risk of ruining your PS2 it makes sense to get it repaired professionally..
