Do I have to buy a separate memory card to save levels on PS2 games or does the console itself contain some memory?

B warned Some games like EA cricket 2004 will eat a memory card, and never buy anything except Sony official cards.
Save a few pounds you might on cheaper cards, but you'll weep when they stuff up. And they do.
