    Hi

Getting a PS2 soon and would like some recommendations on some good games to get.

I particularly like the driving games.
Already have bought GT3 a-spec from this forum.

I have got my PS2 on a budget as a second gaming platform to my PC so am only really looking at cheap games. Seen a few on Ebay for about £10.00 but do not have any idea if they are crap or not as I have not been interested or taken note of anything to do with the PS2 before.

So I would like some recommendations on good oldish games that I can get cheap.

    Thanks
    Greg

ridge racer 5 is quite good. has a more arcade feel that GT. The physics aren't as pollished but good arcade fun. I'm toying with getting rid of my PS/2 but RRV and GT are the two tiels making me keep it.

Been playing need for speed, underground tonight (PS2), ok graphics, and seems quite a lot to do overall, and quite a good laugh, although, I`m only playing it until I can get PGR2 online :)

Also, a big up for SSX3, top game on PS2 :)

Get Burnout or Burnout 2 if you can afford it. The Colin McCrae series is good too. Best games on PS2 (IMO):

    - Ico
    - Rez
    - PES3
    - GTA 3 and GTA: VC

    Thanks for the recommendations guys.

Think I have seen Burnout 2 quite cheap on Ebay so will give that a try. and Ridge Racer5 too.

Also I already have GTA3 & VC on PC.

Have seen the ad for NFS and it looks quite good but not really after brand new games at the moment.

    keep em coming!

    Cheers
    Greg

I know it's not a driving game, but if you buy one PS2 game this Christmas get Prince of Persia. It is utterly fantastic, mesmerising, and eye-poopingly great.

Possibly the best 3D adventure platformer ever... maybe better than Ico.

Im a big driving game fan too.

Depends how realistic you like 'em.

At one end of the scale is Formula 1 2003, which is has just become my favourite. Quite daunting and a bit frustrating at first, but once you get used to the precision and accuracy of the controls (I recommend using both joysticks on the controller) its a very rewarding experience.

With the emphasis on fluid, video like graphics there's not much to beat Gran Turismo 3 - although after playing F1 2003 it feels bloody slow!

And for arcade style shoot-em-up racers, you need WipeOut Fusion. Difficult to fault this game; there are a few programming glitches though (very occasional slowdown, going through walls etc).

Ive also got Downforce and XGIII, but I hardly ever play them.
