How can I connect my PS2 to my PC?
Is there such a thing as a SCART card?

I don't want to buy a full blown TV card. (TV licence issues)

    Thanks...

    Pop over to www.lik-sang.com
They do a great PS2 VGA adapter that will let you connect your PS2 and your PC to one monitor. No idea about connecting a PS2 to a PC (and why you would want to?), but they do connection things for memory cards so that you can transfer saved games over the internet.

I remember seeing (a few years ago) a PCI card into which you could connect a PSX.

Whether it would work for a PS2 I don't know. Nor do I know where you would get one!!

Not a lot of help really!:(

They definitely exist though! I am sure I saw it in a 'Computer Shopper' magazine advert...

as long as you don;t want VGA quality because the PS2 VGA box makes up the signal as PS2 doesn't have VGA support, just beware before you order..

    Hi Guys,

Great idea using a PC monitor with your PS2. However before i go out and buy one of those adapters, could anyone let me know how i'd receive audio as most PC monitors do not come with speakers...

    Thanks,

(hope i dont sound too think :))

Some vga boxes allow you to plug in either phono leads or a typical headphone socket (like the one on the back of your pc) - you can then either plug in pc speakers or connect the box to an amplifier.

    :) :) :)

I've been using one of these for a few years!:

    http://www.internetvideomag.com/ProductReviews/products2002/XGA-TheaterReview.htm

Not sure about price and availability now in the uk but I'm sure you'll find something.

I don't actually use it for watching TV, just playing my ps2 on my computer monitor/speakers, it works really well for this and the pass-through pc signal is very good quality, you wouldn't even know you had it connected between your pc and monitor!

It does tend to exaggerate the 'jaggies' in ps2 games, but only because of the low resolution of the games and the fact that the ps2 was really designed to be viewed on a normal TV which helps 'soften' the image due to a standard TV's low res. The colour is also less vibrant, but in general it's still a great bit of kit, the only limitation is the low res graphics from the ps2.
