I'll stick this here rather than in the games forum...
I have just connected my PS2 to my Loewe Xelos 32 LCD screen. Output from the PS2 is via component, it then goes via my DVD player that allows deinterlacing and, via the HDMI scaling too.
Would I expect to see a border around the PS2 picture, ie, is it generating full screen 720x576? I can fill the screen in zoom mode, but not in original or 16:9. Game is F1 2002.
It happens when I am using component to HDMI/deinterlacing/scaling conversion and straight component passthrough so I don't think its the DVD player affecting it. With a PAL DVD, I would get a border in 'dot for dot'/original mode, but in 16:9 mode a DVD would fill the screen. This border is much different, almost of the PS2 is outputting a 512x512 picture.
Unfortunately my PS2 component lead is too short for it to reach my media so I can try connecting it direct.
