    Very naive question.......

I have planning to buy a PS2 console in the USA. Will it work on my return to England with no problems?

    Any help much appreciated?

As long as you have a decent step down transformer and a television that can handle 'pure' NTSC signals via component, s-video or composite then sure, no probs.

Unless anything goes wrong of course.

And don't forget to add 21% to your cost calculations.

    Thanks for your help!

Is the 21% for VAT/import duty?

Would the PS2 only be able to handle R1 DVD's also?

I guess the Tosh ZP has the appropriate NTSC functionality?

How much is a decent step down transformer likely to set me back?

You could take the PS2 out of the box and pretend its 2nd hand, then they wont charge you tax for it ;)

I have a suitable stepdown transformer that may interest you (never been used).

If you're interested, PM me and I'll put an ad in the classifieds forum so we do it by the book.

From personal experience I can tell you that a PS2 box will just about fit into an airline approved (size wise) carry-on case. We took 2 US PS2s over with us on holiday at Christmas (they were presents), but we purchased ours from a retailer based here in the UK. Take a look at their site .
