    Hi all!

    I have 2 xbox's and 2 PSP's. I used to own a Gamecube.
But for serious & ultimate gaming I use my PC for Counterstrike \ Half life 2.

I am very much interested in platform type games and ofcourse GT4.
I guess there is still about 1.5yrs till the PS3.
Can you tell me which is the best slimline PS2 to get?
Are slimline ps2's from others regions eg Jap / USA better than european ones?
In particular picture quality/ borders etc.

Will the slimline ps2 come out in different limited ed colours?
    eg Electric blue, transparent etc?
My gamecube was a platinum silver one, when i went on to sell it,
it went like a hot cake! Is the current slimline ps2 a black or dark blue
    colour?

Before I go out and spend £125 on the GT4 pack and extra game
I want to make sure I'm spending my money wisely :

Also, is the DVD player multiregion? or locked to region 2?
Are Sony Memory cards the one to go for or are 3rd party ones ok too?

    Cheers

AFAIK all slim PS2's are the same, the only difference being US ones play US games and Jap ones play Jap games. If your concerned about a 1cm border around some games then i guess a US one would be best for you, but hassles having to play/import US game all the time. Also i am not aware of any 'special'(read £$ making) editions of the Slim console, although i'm sure there will be in order to squeeze as much money as they can out of a dying console. Are yo sure you really want GT4? have you read the thread on this forum that discuss' how good or :censored: bad it really is(LazyLink)

The DVD playback is not multi region, unless you get a Action Replay(or similar) that you load each time before you watch a film. And yes offical memory cards are the ones to get, same for any other accessory always go for the Official ones, especially extra controllers.

    Thanks for your advice! :)
I was mainly considering the limited ed version of the console for when
the ps3 is released. I could resell it and get all my money back from a
    collector.

So I guess a uk ps2 can only play UK games right?
If I buy the ps2 in a bundle the GT4 game will only be £15 so i'm not too
bothered if I'm not too crazy about that game, i'll ebay it.
I'm mainly interested in platform \ action type games. I'm so bored stiff
with Halo 2 and am missing the "fun" element games.

Yeah a UK ps2 will only play UK Games. Certainly are a lot of 'fun' titles available for the PS2, there was a thread around here than was all about good platform/adventure games. Try having a look on the older pages of this forum
