Has this been remastered at all from the 360 version. Seems very strange.

Some places are saying it has others say not. There supposed to be getting released individually as well. Agree with oasismark shockingly bad release and its not doing a great job in getting support for a third release.

I watched some streams and clips of it last night on Xbox One, great thing about the Game Hubs or Store IMO.
Looks to have had a bit of a polish but not a full remaster IMO. The 1st game was excellent but may be a bit dated now.
Certainly has come out of nowhere though. Would be great if we got a 3rd installment on current gen consoles.

    AVOID AT ALL COSTS

It runs worse on X1 than it does on PS3!!!

Prototype's HD Biohazard Bundle is a big disappointment • Eurogamer.net

Worse still is the fact PS3 completely overshadows Xbox One in playability. Throughout our tests, Sony's last-gen machine runs with no tearing at all, and yet still manages to consistently best both Xbox machines in frame-rate, both old and new. And unfortunately this is another aspect in which the remaster comes undone: tearing is pernicious on Xbox One, and rarely lets up. The PS3 edition sails by with smoother performance in gameplay, and to back it, has a tear-free image that flatters the subject - even with its lower-resolution window.

Prob why this one seemed to just slip let rather then get advertised in advanced.

Yes, sounds like quite a cowardly release, hoping to sell copies before anyone realises.
We should start a thread to list developers and publishers who think it's ok to release sub standard games in such a way as to deceive gamers, so we can avoid them.
I was going to purchase this but luckily MS wanted me to confirm my account by email or text, and I couldn't be arsed at the time so didn't bother, lucky escape.

It's a good idea. List those after a cash grab at the expense of the user.

I'm guessing that they had plans for a grander remaster, and got some way down the track, but then got caught out by MS's backwards comparability announcement and have cut their losses and rushed to release.

Noticeable that the PS4 version is being held back; may be interesting to see how that compares.

MS still need permission to put any titles in the BC list so they could easily have said no. I think its just a rubbish port

I was meaning more in terms that once hundreds of games (many better or comparable with Prototype) become available on BC, market demand for a remastered Prototype would be decimated. Hence the sudden rush to stop development and release now in the wake of the BC announcement.

Just think it was too much of coincidence coming so soon after the BC announcement. If it was a planned release for July, you'd have thought there would have been at least some marketing/promotion.

Was interested to see what they would do with the PS4 remaster, which did not release at the same time as the Xbox, but I now see that it released about two days later and in the same state regardless of lack of BC on PS4.
