Whilst I'm not new to buying on the internet - been doing it for years, most of my buying these days is done through either eBay or Amazon. If I do buy through other sites I try to use Paypal as much as possible as it's great not only for purchase protection but also means I don't have to enter my card details into so many places.
Now, in this particular case, I'm looking to buy a particular pair of boots, that is out of stock in most normal channels (ebay, Amazon, etc) but with a bit of Google searching I've found a range of sites that have them in stock, varying in price. The cheapest of which is Boots : Men's Shoes : Sneakers, Sandals, Loafers & More | Deals.salestodays Harley Davidson Shoes - Boots Paxton Black (black)
Never heard of them. Can't seem to find any info about them either (trustpilot, etc) but they've got the boots I want, in stock, at a very good price (£42 delivered - other sites range from £80, £100, £120). Now I don't have a credit card, so I'd be needing to create and account with the site and buy using Visa Debit. Am I protected in anyway or am I at risk of being fleeced if it turns out to be dodgy? Granted it's "only" £42, but I'd rather not lose £42 and one thing I hate more than anything is someone getting away with my money by scamming or not fulfilling services etc. I'd like to take the punt on saving £60-£80 but would prefer if I had some protection in place should they simply take the payment and then never send anything and never reply.
