What would you be protecting them from in a dedicated room with a door you can close?

I think you will find those that do are in an extreme minority. Though nothing wrong with keeping dust off the speakers.

If you can sew or know someone who can sew, a simply 5 sides cloth box shouldn't be that hard.

Just make sure you leave room in back for the Speaker Terminals.

I would suggest a very tight weave fabric, perhaps a nylon or thin poly; these would be a type of cloth that is very slippery and would slide on an off very easily.

Also, you might want to check at a Camping/Outdoor supply store. They typically have a wide range of nylon bags, you might find some ready-made that will fit.

If you want to do this, go ahead. Nothing wrong with it, but you will be in a minority.

No. Seems a little OTT to me tbh.

When the tops get dusty I wipe them down with some damp paper towel.

Gloss black and a pain to clean plus there are no swirl marks yet . Only using room once a week at the moment . I know it may be ott for some but it will make cleaning a whole lot easier .

Ah makes a little more sense now.

Mine are vinyl wrapped, so whilst not massively pretty, very easy to maintain.

I use the clear plastic guards that shipped with the speakers - B&W. I have cats and need to protect the drivers.

I foresee a range of Russ Andrews audiophile grade speaker protectors, designed to protect your speakers from atmospheric particles which degrade your speakers’ performance overnight i.e. Pillow cases with Russ Andrews written on them

Depending on the size my AE1’s came in soft fleece bags maybe they could sell you some?
