Bt is throttling back their speeds after about 4pm till about midnight I think, so I'm seriously looking at SKY BB after being with Bt for 20 years:eek:

Before I make a mistake can you experienced SKY BB users tell me any pro's and con's of switching over to them so I'm armed and ready.

    thanks

    Hi

I swithed from from BT line rental and Tiscali to everything Sky.

    Thoroughly recommend !

The service was first class, with text updates to my phone advising swith over dates etc. About 10 mins downtime on net and phone may have gone down, but did not notice.

Good deals to be had to im you swith totally to them i believe!
Just remember to get your mac code from BT, before phoning SKY

I swapped to Sky BB from Tiscali about 4 months ago now and am absolutely delighted that I did so.

I went from a so-called 2MB service (£12.99 per month) with Tiscali to an 8MB service from Sky (£5 per month). With Tiscali, speeds would drop unbelievably during the so-called peak times whilst, with Sky, I get the same speed all the time.

    Definitely recommend Sky BB.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

If its Sky LLU i.e base, mid or max then there really is no contest. In almost every way Sky are a much better ISP than BT.

However if you're not in a sky network area you will get Sky connect which I would not recommend as there are better options available.

Use 1st link in my sig to confirm you can get Sky's LLU services.

As a matter of interest, and I hope it helps you make your decision, here's a speed test result for my Sky BB 8MB service.

    I hope that helps you.

They're not the best but, I must admit, upload speeds don't particularly bother me.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Not any worse than most other ISPs including O2 Access. Sky max is up to 796 kbps (advertised at 768 but 796 in reality) which is double the upload of most other ISPs. O2 LLU & BE are the exceptions out in front for upload but I certainly would not single Sky out for being poor in this regard.
