Are you trying to do 232 control from a pronto or 232 control into a pronto?

hi retro, im in maidenhead (work) but i live in h.wycombe funny eh

i have a dome camera mounted on a ceiling that is 232 but the system its plugged into has visca camera control protocol so it wont talk to the dome.
so i need an interface that will respond to ir commands from the pronto and send 232 strings to my dome camera:p
at least i think thats corrct the guy who wanted me to post the question isnt here at the mo..
    Thanks DANNY

We should have something that will do that job. A little box called a Marata MCU-UNI-IR. It will take in an IR command and output a 232 command or an RC5 IR command. I'm at work at the moment (snow everywhere so traffics stopped) but not sure where the documentation is for it, so I'll have a look tomorow.

    Xantech supply two devices:

    IR232 - fixed baud rate
    IR232A - variable baud rate

    See http://www.xantech.com/

Possibly the same or similar to Richard's options.

    Best regards

    Joe

My little board is a custom made jobbie Joe.

Sadly due to being a distributor I'm not entirely sure of how much it retails for.

It's a pretty flexible thing though, plenty of options on it.

Pretty much an addon to the MCU range.
