Ordinarily when I charge my Pronto in the dock I get two green leds light up and the screen on my Pronto comes on momentarily. I am getting nothing. Now the battery in my Pronto isn't flat (yet) but I'm wondering what's gone wrong - the dock - the power adaptor to the dock - or the Pronto battery?

Any help or experience appreciated. TIA.

First try a different adapter for the dock.

Sensible suggestion - have to see if I have anything suitable around the house! Anyone else have a hunch as to what it could be?

I sometimes get this with my Pronto (non-pro), and find that pulling out the battery to force a reset does the job.

Thanks guys - will check firmware and removing the battery - both will be easier than finding a suitable alternative power adaptor so definitely worth trying first.

I need to press the "reset" button on my ProntoPro quite frequently to recover all kinds of failures. It might work out here as well.

Thanks Arctica - will give that a try - managed to try removing the battery and tried a new power adaptor - neither of which solved the problem. The firmware is the latest available so don't think that is the problem either. Will keep plugging away though :)

Reset has done nothing. Reckon it could be the docking station. In the box for the Pronto there is a 'caddy' for 4x normal AA batteries - I can't figure out how this is supposed to fit in though - there just ins't the room - any ideas? I presume something needs to be removed?

No joy with Philips support - they say they will only deal with their dealer network for repairs or replacement parts - that means I can't get this sorted direct with them and as I bought the remote second hand I have no relationship with a dealer.

I have taken the docking station apart though as suggestions on remotecentral seem to indicate a dodgy resistor. Either that or its a new docking station (which no one now seems to sell!).

Well after making some enquiries www.letsautomate.com came up with the goods! An email enquiry pointed me to the fact that they repair this docking station at £25 inc vat. I sent it off to them and it has just come back by UPS working 100%. Big thumbs up from me. Sadly the firm with the banner above at the head of this page didn't even return my call when they said they would 'look into this for me'.

Very happy household now that I can resign 6 remotes to the cupboard again!

In the scheme of things £25 was quite good - don't get me wrong I am sure the repair was a tuppence resistor or some such but I'm just not that handy !!!!!!!
