Just spilt coke on my Pronto, not a lot, but over the screen and it turned itself off, anyone else done this and survived? I dropped my phone into a glass of Lilt before and it worked after it had dried out, so i'm not overly worried, but can anyone tell me if Prontos are as robust?

    OOOOPS!

Sounds like you and soft drinks dont get on to well eh?

The problem with Coke is that at this very moment its eating the internals of your Pronto! as its so acidic.. we all know what it does to dirty pennys etc.

If it were me i'd be trying to dry it as fast as I could.

    For future ref.:).

If you had another emergency like that and it was last ditch, it is really simple to take apart a remote. Unscrew, pull apart and wipe it out. If you need to clean it, a pure spirit solution, vodka for example would make a good cleaning agent on a lint free cloth. It really is straight forward for 'most' remotes. Just be brave, especially if you think there is nothing to lose.

    It's like my cold remedy.
Warm milk, some sugar and dark rum. If you don't like it at least you'll feel better.:)

I would have done, but the Pronto's got these really annoying star-shaped screws; i've got the right shaped bit, but it's too big to fit in the holes where the screws are.

They're Torx screws, the 'drivers are available just about anywhere, I think the Pronto needs either a Torx 8 or 10.
