Prologic IIX, Neo6, Neural THX which one for 5.1 setup?

    I have a Sony DA2400ES and 5.1 speakers. In the the amp configuration for Enhanced Surround mode I can choose between Prologic IIX, Neo6, Neural THX which should I choose and whats the difference?

    You should choose none as you have a 5.1 speaker setup. The Enhanced Surround modes are for 7.1 (or 6.1) setups.

    You would think the option would be greyed out then -as it knows I have a 5.1 setup.

    Have a listen.On my set up Neo 6 sounds better than others.

    Yours could be entirely different.

    You can add these effects to stereo sources as well such as Sky,works quite well too.

    Misleading user interface design never ceases to amaze me either, so I've stopped thinking such things.

    If your Talking about AFD Esurround option then it is a method of extracting multichannel sound from only a 2 channel stereo source.

    Mine is set on AFD Esurround ( prologic 2 ) That way i get all the full dolby 5.1 sound , HD formats on sky HD and ps3 but programs like eastenders and non multichannel programs (blue light is off) Get abit of rear surround action.

    Leave it on E-Surround ( prologic )
