For the want of a better thread title...

What would you all recommend I use to line and finish this slot where my projector screen cones down?

Cheers

I'm looking to do this soon, too.

I was thinking of using either some of that fuzzy felt feeling adhesive door seal or one of those brush type draught excluder strips you put along the bottom of a door. I'll see if i can find any pics and then sit back, tag onto your thread and wait for some more replies

The screen was up throughout the "build"

I'll upload some pics.

Made it pretty easy to line up.

I wonder if the screen will drop through those brush style strips ok..

Some no nails and some 18mm plastic angle ive done this. Bit of decorators cork and I'm happy with that

I just painted mine.

I made the entire bottom surface removable, leaving the front of the pelmet in place, to allow for screen removal. I put circular paper stickers over the countersunk screws, which you can't see now they've been emulsioned.

Cheers,
MarkP

I like the plastic trim finish.

How did you finish the corners of your box construction and how have you run your cables?

Have you decided how you are going to do this?

Paper stickers are a really good idea  i like that suggestion.

Looks very neat and tidy! another alternative would of been to use stop beads and then skimmed, this gives a a very nice finish indeed.

Thats no to the access. I'm just hoping it'll be ok :)

Also, don't use a flash when taking a pic of the setup. Makes it look very washed out.

What about a length of MDF about 5" wide with the edges routered round or at an angle and a slot routered down the middle.

I used some decorative beading on mine and I think it looks ace... more to the point it has WAF ;)

i've finished my project and will update with what I used which I bought from a roofing company outlet called Sheppards. It was only £4 and looks really good and no glue required!

I'm hiding mine behind a board with a loft hatch fitting where you push it up and it swings down. I'll then use the recessed hinges they use on kitchen cabinets so it'll be a stealthy install.

No pictures yet as it's still a work in progress.....

Sounds good, as long as you keep the gap to a minimum you won't get any black lines. Post some pics as liking that idea!!
