    I'm aware that it's not the highest quality of devices, however it may just be the ticket for someone who wants to play games on a big screen and isn't worried by by the quality (i.e bang for buck).

    I'm more intrigued by what technology it is using, I assume it probably uses an handheld LCD TV type panel and a halogen type bulb

    I understand what you're saying about occasional use but as Horny Dragon pointed out,the resolution is pants.They quote a maximum image size(ideally)of 48 inches on that site and as is the case in these matters,it's probably lower than that really.I'd say a much better option would be a used Panasonic AE100 or similar.You could pick this sort of thing up for another £100-£150 on top of the price of what you're looking at there.Try a wanted ad in the classified section of this forum if I were you.
