I fear I've made may hit a problem with throw ratios and how much space I'll need to mount the projector. I've bought a Sony projector and a peerless mount. The projector only needs 1cm behind it but the peerless mount slides in from the back and it needs about 6cm to slide in. If I use the optional retaining screw (and possibly one on the other side) would it be okay to rotate the mount 90 degrees so it slides in from the side? If not it's going to be very tight to get the image on a 16/9 screen.

My other idea was to use a microwave bracket (upside down) and use the length adjustment to slide the whole thing back.

The Peerless mount plate that goes on the ceiling should be fine rotated at 90 or 180 degs...
