Just had my Barco Graphics 808 installed and it's fantasitic. Even with the quick initial set up and also PC problems meaning I'm only able to run it at a resolution higher than it's supposed sweet spot it's looking great. Very film like, you wouldn't beleive it was a DVD and not a 70mm projector at the back of the room.

Thanks to Roland for the 10 hour day he put in trying to make it neat and acceptable to the other half.

The good thing is that even though the picture is stunning now, I know it's going to get better.

All that's is left to do is finish the room now, if I can tear myself away from re watching all my DVD's to do it!

    Well done Nick & Roland
I should be where you are in a couple of weeks (providing Roland doesn't die from overwork :))

    I can't wait!
I've just finished doing the basic HCPC install and everything's looking good. Multiregion, quiet, great pq (no tweaks yet) just a bit ugly!

    Good luck
    Alex

Hey! Alex/Nick we are all "joined at the hip" at the moment!.

Roland demo-ed Alex on Monday in Manchester.
Installed mine on Tuesday in Manchester.
Then installed Nicks on Wednesday in Bradford.

Then in two weeks time (approx) he may/should be:-

Installing a PJ for Alex in Manchester.
    Tweaking/finishing my PJ in Manchester.
Then tweaking/finishing Nicks PJ n Bradford.

    Then two weeks after:-

    Tweaking/finishing Alex's PJ in Manchester.
    Vacancy?:)
    Vacancy?:)

You didn't want a personal life did you Roland? :D

I can thoroughly recomend getting a Barco CRT, even when not 100% set up they beat anything I've seen. Can't wait for the full set up now.

Hard work still to be done, whilst I don't mind sitting in a scruffy room watching hours of movies, the G/F want's the room right. So I have some speaker cable tidying, carpet fitting, painting and cabinet making to do. Hopefully should have a pretty groovy room at the end of it all. If I get round to it then picturs will be forthcoming.

    Cheers

    Nick

Blimey Fulabeer seems to know more about my schedule than I do!

Still at least if anything ever goes wrong we know a lot of people with similar setups to ourselves.
Once we're all happy we should do a 'Northern tour' :D
This is what steered me towards a Barco even though there were a few Sony/Electrohome/NEC bargains around - I didn't want to be fighting a battle - I've had enough of that learning about HCPC!

I've now got perfect stability running the latest versions of WinDVD and PowerDVD - All at the required resolutions!
It looks great on my 21" Mitsi Pro at 1600x1200 @ 96Hz

Come on Roland - I'm ready for ya! :p

    Alex/Nick.
You are both welcome to visit in a couple of weeks!:D
Buying a projector is a mine field, so good back-up is worth its weight in gold.
I have just watched Gladiator again, and NOW see what all the fuss was about!. Because this is a very dark film, i had to grit my teeth a bit. But now dark scenes are a pleasure!.

    Roll on a fortnight...;)

    Guys,

You should be ashamed of yourselves, working poor Roland into the ground. At this rate, he won't be able to fit me in.:D

    Paul,

Thanks for the offer.Would love to haver a look!
Welcome over to sunny bradford too, but will be after Chrimbo before I get the room sorted out I would think.

I agree with you about the minefield, I would have been lost if it wasn't for this forum and all the help I got. It will be handy to have a few Northern buddies too.

    Cheers

    Nick
