:) I am visiting London for a days shopping from Guernsey,
can anyone recommend stores that have Projectors on
    display or Demos running.
Have read so much about projectors and want one badly, but
need to see one in action to confirm if i go that route or Plasma

    Thanks

    Dave

It is a real problem for those of us in London! I guess real estate costs put paid to demo rooms.

I have tried Grahams hi-fi in Islington, who are very helpful and had the Sony and Sim2 pj's in. Pricey though - they don't seem to discount like the dealers that ad on this site for eg they still habe plasma's up at £5k that you can pick up for £3.5k if you search round.

Musical Images in Covent Garden also have a couple of demo rooms. I have demo'd speakers there and they told me that they demo yamaha, sim2 and infocus pj's.

Both places it is best to book an appointment.

I wanted to see a good demo of various pj's side by side and got some recommendations in reply to a thread on this. I can't work out how to link to it but it was titled 'Which DLP pj?'.

Hope that helps - can't help wondering if buying from europe may be cheaper for you? Just guessing....

I used to always shop at Zebra in South Croydon. They've moved to the Kings road now. They were always very helpful and welcoming.

I bit further out...av-sales in Kent are really good. They have a nice demo room and they have very good prices and excellent aftersales service. I know they have the Panny series 6 plasma.

Sevenoaks hifi usually have demo rooms and are helpful as well although they do charge top whack.

I would do a search on these forums and decide which plasmas and projectors you want to see then phone a few dealers to make sure they have the kit you want to see and book a demo session with them.

Zebra have shut their shop in Kings Road recently. I think they're back in Croydon somewhere now.

I think they only really do Runco now also. Best ring and ask them I guess.

Oh, and if you just want to see them, Selfridges have about 4 different ones up on different walls (so hard to compare) in the basement. Again, poor quality signal being put through them and the staff are eponymous.
